Melbourne Derbyshire

Location

Melbourne is located in the English East Midlands and the County of Derbyshire. It is very well placed for travel to the main East Midlands towns, Derby (8 miles), Nottingham (about 15 miles) and Leicester (about 23 miles). Birmingham is less than 40 miles away. The M1 motorway is about 7 miles from the town.


The nearest railway station is in Derby and East Midlands International airport is about 6 miles away. Bus services (Arriva) connect the town with Derby, half-hourly during the day and hourly in the evening.

Access

From Derby take A514 to Swadlincote and head for Melbourne just south of Stanton by Bridge (B587).


From Stoke take A50 to Chellaston/Melbourne exit. Follow signs to Swarkestone and Melbourne.


From the MI, Junction 23A or 24, follow signs to A453 East Midlands airport. About three miles past the airport at Isley Walton turn right.


From the A42, leave at Ashby de la Zouch and follow signs to Breedon or East Midlands airport. Turn left at Lount (B587).
